Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of stayfed.org and any services provided by StayFed ("StayFed," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing the site, submitting an application, joining the waitlist, or using a StayFed Rating, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

What StayFed is

StayFed is a verification and ratings service that evaluates hotels, rentals, and short-term accommodations based on nearby access to halal, vegetarian, vegan, and kosher food. Ratings are produced through a combination of manual review and verified data sources. We are based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and currently operate as a pilot program limited to the Greater Toronto Area.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to apply for a rating or join the waitlist. Property applications must be submitted by the owner, manager, or authorized representative of the property.

How ratings work

• Ratings are issued at our discretion based on our published methodology.
• Applying for a rating does not guarantee that a rating will be issued. We may decline applications at our discretion.
• Ratings reflect a point-in-time assessment of food access surrounding your property. Restaurants open and close; certifications change. We do not warrant ongoing accuracy between re-verifications.
• Verification of halal and kosher certifications is performed against publicly available registries (including HMA, MCC, COR, and KFR) as of the rating date. We do not independently certify any restaurant; we report on certifications issued by recognized authorities.
• Ratings are provided for informational purposes. Travelers should independently verify dietary suitability for their specific needs.

StayFed badge and brand use

If your property receives a StayFed Rating, you may display the official StayFed badge on your website, listings, and marketing materials subject to these conditions:

• The badge must reflect your most recent issued rating without modification, alteration, or fabrication.
• You may not display a StayFed Rating that has expired, been revoked, or that you did not actually receive from StayFed.
• You may not reproduce, license, or sublicense the StayFed name, logo, or methodology to third parties without written permission.
• StayFed reserves the right to revoke badge usage rights if these terms are violated.

Intellectual property

All content on stayfed.org — including text, design, the StayFed name and logo, the rating methodology, and the badge format — is owned by StayFed and protected by Canadian and international copyright and trademark law. You may not copy, reproduce, scrape, modify, or distribute any portion of the site or our reports without our prior written permission. Property reports issued to you are for your own commercial use as described above and may not be resold or distributed in original form.

Accuracy of information you provide

You agree to provide accurate, complete information when submitting an application. Submitting false or misleading information may result in your application being declined or your rating being revoked.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

StayFed Ratings are provided "as is" for informational purposes. We do not warrant that any specific restaurant near your property will remain open, certified, or suitable for any individual's dietary needs. We are not responsible for decisions made by travelers based on StayFed Ratings, nor for any outcomes from the use or non-use of any restaurant identified in a report.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, StayFed is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim related to a paid rating is limited to the amount you paid for that rating.

Pricing

During the Toronto pilot, ratings may be provided at no cost in exchange for feedback or other agreed-upon terms communicated in writing. Pricing for general availability will be published on the site when it is established. Pilot terms do not entitle you to free ratings indefinitely.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any dispute arising from these Terms will be resolved in the courts of Ontario.
